Edit many products at once: categories, attributes, options and more

Product Group Editing lets you change fields of many products in one go. Collect the products into a group, open the regular OpenCart product form, change what you need and save. The changes are applied to every product in the group.

What it is for

• Assign or change categories for hundreds of products at once
• Update attributes and their values for a whole product line
• Copy options with their values from one product to others
• Replace all options of the group products with the options of the source product
• Copy descriptions, rewards, downloads and other product data

How it works

1. Open the product list in the admin area and add products to the group: all products on the list, or only the selected ones.
2. Open any product of the group in the standard product form. It switches to the group editing mode.
3. Change the fields you want. Only the fields you marked are applied to the other products.
4. Save. The module updates every product of the group through the regular OpenCart product saving, so events and third-party patches keep working.

Features

• Works inside the standard OpenCart product form: nothing new to learn
• Group management right in the product list: add all, add selected, remove selected, clear the group
• Per-field control: you decide which fields are copied to the group products
• Options: copy single options with their values, or tick Replace All Options to make the options of the group products exactly the same as in the source product. A confirmation shows how many products will be changed
• Existing option ids are preserved where the same option and value already existed
• Languages: if a product has no description in some language, that language is skipped instead of creating an empty record
• Admin permissions are checked for the group actions

Tip: make a database backup before a large group change. It is the fastest way to undo a mass edit.
