The extension imports data from CSV files. CSV is a simple and popular format for exchanging raw data. It can be viewed and edited in a text editor or a spreadsheet application. Simple XLS/XLSX files can easily be exported to CSV format.
We recommend using the free OpenOffice Calc application to edit CSV files, but you are free to use any spreadsheet application you prefer, such as MS Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
The extension is flexible when it comes to column names in the CSV file. The aim is to adapt to your data rather than force you to arrange the data in a specific order. Usually, a CSV file is provided by a supplier. Each supplier may use their own column names, and you can map the columns from the file to the corresponding product fields in OpenCart using the CSV Product Import extension.
